Mailbox Regulations

created on May 26, 2015
Please notice the Town's mailbox regulations prior to replacing an old or placing a new mailbox. These regulations can be found on this website under local laws. Not only is this a regulation of the Town but this swing-away design can save you money in the future since it's not so vulnerable to snowplow damage during the Town's vigorous snow removal needs in our snowy months. Thank you!

Letter of Support

created on May 26, 2009
The Town of Barrington (Pop. 2000 Census 1,395) actively supports a clean healthy environment. Each year we have a town \'clean-up\' day to promote environmentally healthy ways of disposing of items no longer needed. We support our community and our planning and zoning boards in their laws and regulations that adhere to those practices whose goals are in keeping with State and County regulations and law. The Town of Barrington is a rural community with a small population and is either not faced, or is faced to a much smaller degree with some of the larger issues in your guide. Being a primarily agricultural community we are aware of, and enthusiastically support engaging in agriculturally safe products and water and soil usage. We are aware of the critical nature of your \'Pledge\' and thank you for including us in your work for Climate Smart Communities. Town of Barrington (Town Board Meeting 05-13-09)
